Situated within the rural countryside of Wales lies this newly renovated garden. Located next to an ancient woodland, the garden has recently been transformed from a simple patch of grass, to a beautiful and inviting patio with planting. Home to Laura, her partner, and their two dogs, step inside this country garden with our Dijon Tumbled Herringbone Cobbles.

My Country Home Customer Dog

After moving five times across the country, from Devon to Wales, Laura has always loved gardening and was excited to transform the outdoor space to make it feel like hers. ‘I wanted to depict the feeling of being nestled into the surrounding countryside and keep the garden soft and natural but with a romantic, light-formal feel.’

The renovation began in Autumn 2022 when Laura had just moved into her countryside home. By Spring 2023, she had drawn all the layout designs herself and started looking for the perfect outdoor paving; “as a garden designer, I measured & surveyed my own garden and started by drawing up a base scale drawing of the plot. After researching and obtaining many different types of stone samples, I kept coming back to Quorn Stone’s Dijon Limestone. The soft, natural look encapsulates everything I wanted. When committing to a project you want something of an investment, something that will grow WITH you, ageless and beautiful. When I came across the products from Quorn Stone, I found them to be exactly this.

The hardscaping was complete by June 2024, where Laura then began adding the finishing touches to the space, perfecting the planting of the flowerbeds and pots to bring a natural feel to the space. “It was important to observe the natural flow of a garden and being nestled into the surrounding countryside with its hills and curves, I wanted to choose flowers and plants that would complement and soften the patio.”

What Laura has achieved in her outdoor renovation is an inviting and peaceful space, that can be enjoyed not only by herself and her family, but also wildlife in the nearby fields. One of Laura’s favourite parts of her home is being surrounded by nature and wildlife, telling us the “super friendly neighbours love to keep us company!”

The Dijon Tumbled Limestone Herringbone tiles are an ever-popular choice for gardens wanting to create a timeless and authentic style. This neutral toned stone complements an array of colour schemes with its soft beige and light grey hues.

‘The Dijon limestone really comes into its own in wet weather, embracing its inner beauty and natural elegance. Tiny, fossilized cut stone pieces shine through and glisten. I can spend hours admiring the endless detail in the cobbles and pavers alike!’

“Making memories is my favourite thing to do in my garden. Every moment in a garden, is a special moment. I will never be happier than when I am in my garden with my two dogs. Growing plants, watching the dogs play, sitting under the parasol in the sunshine.”
